Group N rally activities, governing mass-produced cars, are pretty much impossible to win unless the quality of the car is very, very high. Impreza STI established the position of Fuji Heavy Industries' mass-produced models as the benchmark in the category; but on the other hand, in order to achieve this level of success, the development team at STI had to work very closely with FHI to include many minute spec changes every year to ensure consistent high performance in customer-level rally events.
