Nasser Al-Attiyah continued his domination of the Middle East by claiming his sixth FIA Middle-East Rally Championship (MERC) title after winning, "International Dubai Rally" (held from 3-5 December) for the fourth year in a row. Al-Attiyah won the final round of the season by over 2 minutes, in his latest versioned Subaru Impreza. The event saw an Impreza filled top five with Abdullah Sheik Al-Qassimi taking second place in also the latest spec of Subaru Impreza after consistently setting top four stage times throughout the two-day event.
Taking the third spot on the podium and the runners-up place in the championship for the second consecutive year was Misfer Al-Marri, who was also running in the same model of Subaru Impreza. Khalid Al Suwaidi and Jaber Al-Marri completed the Impreza top five finishing fourth and fifth respectively.
