Pucon Rally in the Republic of Chile, closed this afternoon in the penultimate chapter of the 2009 FIA Codasur which was held from 16-17 October, taking as the winner by Codasur and in general the Argentinean driver Sebastian Abramian on a Subaru Impreza 2008 after a fierce fight with the local Jorge Martinez (Mitsubishi). As the result, Raul Martinez on Subaru Impreza 2008 secured Codasur title which is his first international title.
Abramian won the first day with a good margin to Raul Martinez and Jorge Martinez. However, on day 2, Abramian saw his difficulty on SS12 when he hit big block and broken crankcase. He lost 19 seconds there, being narrowed the margin to Jorge Martinez to just 7.6 seconds. Although almost no oil pressure, Abramian managed to bringing his machine to service his mechanics could solve all problems for last three stages. Jorge Martinez continued his hard charge on the first stage after the service with finishing this stage 9.6 seconds faster than Abramian which meant gained rally lead with 2 seconds margin. In a thrilling final, Abramian won the penultimate stage by 4 tenths and the latter stage by 6.4 seconds, regaining the lead and making his first win of the season. Raul Maltinez finished the even in third place which brought him enough point to secure the title.

The final round of 2009 Codasur will be held in Punta del Este, Uruguay from 19-21 November.
