The current Danish champion Max Christensen and Dorthe Ravn of Subaru Motorsports Denmark in the 4wd-class experienced a fierce rally fight until very last seconds of the round four of Danish Championships, Rally Midtsjaelland 2009 which was held from 25-26 September around Roskilde from 25-26 September. Final result was a second place after a top performance from the crew.
Under the harsh conditions of where the rally held, the organizers had provided a impressive 129 km of tarmac stages. "In advance there was expectations for close battle for the fractions of seconds on the 13 stages", Christensen notes. The final fight in the Danish Championship among the four wheel drive stood between Subaru Motorsports Denmark and Christian K. Jensen in Peugeot 207 Super 2000.
"Before the penultimate in the Danish Championship we had achieved an advantage of 8 points", Ravn explained. "The question was, were we able to make an decisive gap to the competitors, or if the decision was to take place in the finals on Moen in November."
Half way through the rally, Christensen was on second place among 4WD class ,and gap to the leader was 1.6 seconds. But then Christensen got more concentration. Before the last 2 stages, he finally took the lead in Subaru Impreza WRX, with 1.3 seconds gap to nearest rival. "At this time, we already drove stages of more than 100 km in high speed" Christensen said. "The time gap was equal to only 50 meters, so there was no margin to make even small mistake. Also on SS9, there was a moment when we were forced to delay by a competitor who was blocking the road after off the course."

Although Christensen saw superb performance on the 2 final stages, it's slightly not enough to beat Jensen who showed respectable battle with Christensen. The eventual result was a second place to Subaru Motorsports Denmark, 2.1 seconds adrift from the first place.
In the Danish Championship 2009, Christensen still has a lead on 3 points in 4WD class. The final round of Danish Championship, "Yokohama Gjoenge Rally 2009" will be taken place 14th November around Moen.
